• He appeared on the census in 1881 in Market Place, Shepton Mallet, Somerset. RG11 ??? f84 pg 24

• He appeared on the census in 1901 in 171 Coatsworth Road, Gateshead, Country Durham. RG13 4753 f11 pg 14

• He worked as an Engine Fitter (1881); Mechanical & Electrical Engineer (1901).

Edward married Kate Gildersleeves in 1886 in St Olave Registration District. (Kate Gildersleeves was born about 1866 in Bermondsey, Surrey.)
